is this hardware compatible with the new Onyx software like the Enttec DMX USB Pro is?
Not technically. Now, have I successfully used it that way…yes 
But, I’m not sure there is a guarantee it will work - so test it thoroughly on your end!
(But, in reality, a DMXis is basically a USB pro with “extras”)
