Best material settings for object made out of Polypropylene

Hi there,

Currently we’re developing a object that is made out of PP that we will use for stagedesigns. In the picture you can see a previous object we made and we are going to make a new version of it.

It is origami kind of object, so it’s 3D. The screen is 3 meters wide and 2 meters high and 0.5 meters in depth. The material of the object is about 4mm thick and where the folds are the material is less thick so you can bent the material.

My question is, how can I make a object with the right material settings for this. I’ve tried some settings but when I put transparenty on 35% you can see the lights or objects that are behind the object thru the object. As you can see in the picture the material let light’s thru but you can’t see the lights behind it. Christopher John Bolton gave me this trick an tip: “Put the fixture on a layer and hide it. Make it a virtual fixture. No smoke. No fixture. No problem.”. But the object will be placed in a construction so this will still be visible.
