delay DHCP reception EN4

Hello everyone, Is there a way to delay DHCP reception on the EN4? My DHCP server takes longer to turn on at the same time than the EN4.

Hi @Prolixus

Welcome back to the forum.

If the EN4 is set to DHCP, when it first boots it will have no IP address, whilst it attempts to discover a DHCP server. If no DHCP server is found after a few seconds, the EN4 will then generate a random 169.254.x.y link-local IP address. Whilst set to this IP address, EN4 will still periodically look for a DHCP server. Therefore, if a DHCP server comes online, a few seconds later EN4 will then switch from the 169.254.x.y address, to the address obtained from the discovered DHCP server.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
