hello, we have a single ns8 (1 out of 6) which is not stable in anyway. is there an open or secrect or well known or anything of a tool we can test the units hardware without give it a way? it is very important for a show tomorrow morning, and is just the night to decide to throw the unit away and organize an otherone, or have the chance to save the show tomorrow with the one we have here. thx.

Really sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulty with the NETRON NS8.
The NS8 does not feature any self-tests.
Please could you explain the instability you are seeing? Is the connection to the web interface unstable, or is the data throughput unstable?

…sorry, but we had the same case with some swisson units, and they told us everything a workshop technican can do to check hardware of switches, is done by software. so they send us the right tools, and we can sort out the problems. we think elation do not give hardware check tools to the costumers to protect the service partner. that is ok, but must be communicated. so also our rental house is saying, elation is not willing to help on side. sad, but in future we try to get back to swisson for hardcore projects. thx.

This is not true. We do not have any internal test tools for NS8. To test ports, they can be connected together, to verify an active gigabit link on each port.
Please can you confirm the contact details of your rental house, so I can check if there’s anything we can do to assist?
To assist further, we need to know what symptoms the NS8 was exhibiting. You should already have my direct email - please feel free to reach out so we can troubleshoot more swiftly.
NETRON NS8s have now been on firmware version 1.0.0 for two years, and are still extremely reliable.
