Hi all,
I have a house rig where we’ll be swapping ~20x fixtures for a different
but similar fixture type. When following the documented ‘COPY FIXTURE X @ Y’
process while in the ‘Cloning’ menu with ‘Cues’, ‘Presets’, and ‘Groups’
selected ‘to be copied’, I cannot get Gobo presets to work well (or at
all) with the new fixtures.
Exact steps taken and retried:
- Patched original Smarty Max fixtures.
- Created working Gobo presets for the Smarty Max fixtures
(select, shake, scroll). - Patched new Artiste DaVinci fixtures.
- Opened the ‘Cloning’ menu.
- Called ‘COPY FIXTURE 1 @ 2’ and created the new line in the
Cloning menu. - Ensured ‘Cues’, ‘Presets’, and ‘Groups’ are selected (have also
tried different combinations). - Called ‘Execute Command’ to complete the clone.
- Selecting the new Artiste DaVincis and calling any pre-existing
Gobo preset consistently puts both of the fixture’s gobo wheels
in the ‘open’ slot.
Curious whether this is a known issue or just my workflow. I’m also
wondering if, given how the menu is worded, this is purely a ‘Copy’
operation and isn’t remapping the gobo data the way I’d traditionally
expect a clone to. Greatly appreciate the help and insight.
