Is there a way to attach a single fixture to an override cue...and then...

Sometimes we have an interpreter, sometimes we do not.

If I program a set of playback cues to include fading in and out the light that would be on the Interpreter throughout the service, but on any given Sunday, there may not be an interpreter, how could I effectively disable that fixture only for that service while leaving it in the playback cues?

Our cues are all triggered by ProPresenter, and having a volunteer have to pay attention to whether or not there’s an interpreter in first service, but not in 2nd service, is actually too much to expect. But I’d still like there not to be a light fading in and out in those instances.

Oh wow…never mind. I created a single override cue with the value of zero loaded into the programmer, so all anyone has to do is activate that cue to kill the signals to that fixture.

Jon,

Another idea would be to create an inhibitor for that light. Inhibitor at 100% and it works, at 0% and it’s off. And you can use that to set the overall brightness if you need to make a small adjustment for a particular service.

Hope this helps,

Watson

Thanks Watson. Not sure how to do that though. The override fader seems to work, but I’d like to try your idea.

Jon,

Select the fixture(s) and set to 100% in programmer. Press record and a playback fader. You’ll get a pop up dialog box for naming the “cuelist”, but before pressing enter (after the name) press Inhibitor from the options.

Now run the “service” cuelist that has the light in it and adjust the inhibitor to see how it responds.

Here’s a couple links to the support page that explains it a little more.
