NETRON CLU and EN12 issues

CLU v.1.1.2

EN12 v2.8

PC Laptop Windows 10 Pro

Issue 1: CLU sees EN12 at IP: 2.167.120.83 not the IP set on the EN12 itself, cannot connect. Changing EN12 to 2.167.120.84 now can connect and make changes. No matter what IP I choose on the node the CLU still lists the above IP stated earlier. Other nodes on the network show up as expected.

Issue 2: Cannot update firmware. Tried v2.9.2 and v2.9.4 and neither will update nor does anything happen.

Hi @Rocket

Welcome to the forum.

Firstly, please ensure your PC’s Ethernet connection is set to a 2.x.y.z IP address, such as 2.3.4.5, with a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0.

Please then set the EN12’s IP address to 2.167.120.84. Please then launch CLU on your PC, and CLU should discover your EN12. In the device list, the status indicator should be green, and the globe icon should be grey.

Please then go to the Firmware Update tab on the left of CLU, and then click the upload arrow below Update Firmware for the EN12. The EN12 should then be updated to firmware v3.0.1, which is the latest version. This is a significant version jump, and as a result the EN12 will be reset to factory settings during the update. Do not disconnect power or network during the update.

Once complete, the EN12 will be factory reset to a random 2.x.y.z IP address. You should then be able to rediscover the EN12 from CLU, and you should see that both the firmware and web version have now updated to v3.0.1.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Edward

The CLU was seeing the EN12 with an IP of 2.x.y.z instead of the 10.x.y.z that I chose. CLU was seeing the default gateway and showing that as the IP. Not sure why but I was able to figure it out. My default browser is Firefox and that was the issue. Used Chrome to access EN12 and update to v3.0.1 and all is good and working fine. Node is ready and on stand by to deploy when needed!

Thanks,

Rocket

Thanks very much for the information. Glad to hear the EN12 is now running firmware 3.0.1.

May I ask the make/model of the router/default gateway device that was on the network?

Edward

No router on the lighting network.

To confirm, was CLU seeing the EN12, but displaying the address currently set for the EN12’s Default Gateway address, rather than its IP address? If you changed the EN12’s Default Gateway address, would CLU then display this new address, rather than the IP?
