I recently purchased a Netron EN4. When setting it up, I set the IP address on the device and configured the ports to output dmx via ArtNet. The device was directly connected to a MacBook in the same subnet (10.0.0.0/24). When trying to output ArtNet via Qlab and via MagicQ, the unit did not function properly (flashing blue leds on the DMX ports). I changed to a preset (ArtNet 10.x) to make sure I did not make a configuration error. This did not work. After rebooting the unit, it briefly seemed to function (the leds stopped blinking - solid blue). On the next reboot, the unit did not function anymore.
I can reach the unit via the web-interface on the configured ip.
I did a test with another device (ELC DMXLan Buddy) and the same MacBook configuration, and this worked immediately. Can you help me?
Great to hear you have a Netron EN4. Thank you for confirming that this is set to a random 10.x.y.z IP address using the Art-Net preset. By default, the 10.x.y.z Art-Net preset will use a /8 subnet (255.0.0.0). Therefore, I would recommend setting your Mac to an IP of 10.0.0.1, with a subnet of 255.0.0.0. QLab and MagicQ on your Macbook, should then be able to detect your EN4, and will then be able to send Art-Net to it.
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks for your reply. It seems I did not make myself completely clear. When changing to the preset, I changed the IP configuration of the Macbook to be within the same subnet as the EN4.
I was also able to reach the web-interface in both configurations (manual and preset), so maybe this means it is not necessarily a network issue?
Please could you confirm the IP address and subnet configured on your Mac?
Please then connect to your EN4’s webpage using a browser, and take a screenshot of the home screen and the System > Status screen. Please then post these screenshots on the forum, and I will take a look.
Blinking blue LED indicates that it’s not receiving DMX packets.
Keep in mind that EN4 may look at the Art-Net packages shifted by one Universe (both 0 and 1 based are allowed)
There is a setting to change this in the menu and web interface.
