Has there been any development in implementing link aggregation in the NS8?

Need a redundant FOH line and only article I can see referencing this is from 2022

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks very much for your feature request. Link Aggregation is logged on our system as feature reference NETRM-22. I have logged your request for this, which has raised its priority.

Currently, if you have a backup line from side of stage to Front Of House, you would need to disable the Ethernet port of the secondary link on one of the NS8s, to avoid a network loop. If the primary line dropped offline, you could then enable the secondary line’s port on the NS8, to switch over to the secondary. NS8 currently does not support seamless switchover.

Edward, could you log a request for this feature as well? Eagerly looking forward to this one if and when it comes.

we have tested the ns8 for 4 months now, and we also hope that we can push this feature with our request for that. thx

I’d also like to request to push priority up for this request - I had to add Netgear switches to a system to have this functionality recently, and I’d love to be able to do it with the NS8s.

I also like to push this feature a little bit up.

We already use 6 NS8 in our venue and I am really thinking to switch over to netgears AV-Line to add redundancy by implementing LAG… due i like the hardware of obsidian…

Just recognized the all-new FS16 does not have LAG either….

Thank you for requesting this. All three requests have been logged.

Our firmware team are currently working on finishing FS16, so it is ready for shipping. Once complete, the firmware team will then work on adding this to NS8.

@Edward Thanks for the update. Does this mean FS16 will ship with LAG?

That is our plan, but if the firmware is not quite ready, we won’t let this delay the FS16.
