I know the NX touch has been discontinued, and the M series hardware is being unsupported, including the M-touch. Is the NX touch the same hardware as the M-touch and therefore also being unsupported? Or will the NX touch continue to have future support? Looking at buying one used. Thanks!

No - the M-Touch and NX-Touch do not share the same hardware/firmware, despite the layout and functionality being identical.
NX-Touch is compatible with ONYX 4.32, and there are no plans for ONYX to stop supporting it.
