Software Version: 4.8.1232
NX Console Type or PC OS Version: NX1
I’ve already updated the BIOS. When inserting the drive with 4.10.1271 ISO on it, system recognizes drive and prompts to boot from drive - I confirm. Gives warning window, I confirm. Then errors with “Can’t determine boot source drive, aborting”. Has anyone else had this issue or know why this is happening? I’ve tried with a few of the archived 4.10 ISOs here but all have the same issue.
So to confirm, your console is currently in the following state:
Successfully updated to the latest NX1 BIOS
Running ONYX OS 4.8
If so, and your console is refusing to complete the ONYX 4.10 operating system installation, I would recommend formatting a different bootable USB drive. Please see the instructions below… Installing the Operating System
Hi @Edward
I’ve done it already with two separate drives. That’s also the manual that I’ve been following.
Is it not possible to use one of these files and tell the mixer to use said file to update, similar to the process used to update to 4.30?
ONYX 4.10 and ONYX 4.30 software .exe, both require the ONYX 4.10 operating system. If you load the ONYX 4.10 or ONYX 4.30 software on a console with the ONYX 4.8 operating system, the installation will not complete.
When you updated the BIOS, did this seem to succeed smoothly? If the NX1 is refusing to install the ONYX 4.10 operating system, it may be worth reinstalling the BIOS, in case this did not update correctly.
I think you are getting the wrong installer. After you update the BIOS you need to use the console OS installer. Not the PC software / version update installer. The link you posted takes me to the PC side where it talks about being able to update consoles already on a “major release” with “software patches”. Try following the instructions on this link where it talks about making a Bootable USB stick using the ONYX Tool. Installing the Operating System
