NX1 + NXP — Global Fade Time Control / Macro Command Syntax (4.32)

Software Version: 4.32
NX Console Type or PC OS Version: NX 1 + NX P

Hi,
I’m running ONYX 4.32.1311.0 on an NX1 + NXP setup and trying to achieve global fade time control across my show. A few specific questions:

  1. Is there a fader type assignable on the NX1 that acts as a master fade time scalar — similar to how a Rate Master scales chase speed, but for cue-to-cue fade times?
  2. Is there a macro command that can target all active executors at once with a level and fade time — e.g. something like “All At 50 Fade 3” — rather than having to address each executor individually?
  3. Alternatively, can a cue inside one cuelist (e.g. CL448) fire a macro that changes another executor’s value (e.g. OR126 At 50) with a defined fade time? If so, what is the correct command syntax for this in 4.32?
Context: I have a mix of cues with explicit times and cues using the default fade time. My goal is to have one button or fader that can influence timing globally at runtime without re-programming every cue.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi @joel_chummar

Welcome to the forum.

Great to hear you have an NX1 + NXP.

This function cannot be assigned to a playback fader, however this can be accessed on the encoders. In the CV, choose the Rate option. Your first encoder will then become “Global Fade Speed”. This can be used to speed up or slow down transitions across all cuelists. The third encoder will be “Selected Cuelist Speed”, which will have the same function, but just for the selected cuelist.

Tip - if you have an NXK connected, one of the NXK’s encoders could be permanently assigned to one of these Rate functions.

ONYX does not feature a macro capable of targeting just currently active cuelists.

It is possible to configure a SET CL VALUE Cuelist Macro, but this cannot include fade time information. The cuelist’s fader level will be changed immediately when the cue is triggered.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
