Onyx data drops - sACN Viewer

Hey folks, anyone familiar with sACN Viewer? I’ve been monitoring onyx sending out data on 1 universe on 1 dimmer channel to 1 node and I still get data jumps. The last show I was on, we had several lock ups (we were running everything through unmanaged netgear switches and EN4s).

A jump is described as: A jump, unlike a sequence error, indicates any packets which are delivered out of order or dropped. One or two jumps are not unusual over time, but if you see many jumps you may have a network problem

Are data drops from Onyx normal? Should there be any data drops at all? And/or what could cause data drops? I’m only outputting 1 single piece of dmx data to a node. This doesn’t feel right (or maybe I don’t know what I’m doing). Firmware is updated on the node and Onyx version is 4.10. I’m running everything on a PC. Appreciate any help/feedback.

This could be the switch. What model?
Also are the EN4s on 2.9.4?

Right now, I am directly into an EN4 (no switches at the moment) - and I’ve had over 200 jumps the past few hours.

Yes, EN4s are at 2.9.4.

Hello, and if you eliminate the EN4 as well (direct connection of sACN viewer to the ONYX hardware)?

If I eliminate the EN4, sACN has no data to track… because I’m no longer sending data over ethernet?

Hmm, the sACN Viewer should “subscribe” to sACN traffic?
