run from iphone

Is there a way to get an iphone (version unknown) to talk with LJ on a notebook?

Yes, by using a MIDI app on the phone to send MIDI to the laptop where it is routed, by virtual MIDI cable, to the MIDI plugin created for Lightjockey. For example, from TouchOSC app configured to send MIDI, wirelessly connected to the TouchOSC Bridge software which is installed on the laptop. The input of the MIDI for the unofficial MIDI plugin would then be the virtual MIDI port created by the TouchOSC Bridge software. Or loopMIDI could be used.

Hi Len, there is no official tool that we created for remote control of LJ on an iPhone or iOS device (such as M-Series Remote for M-PC).
