Shehds profile fix please

Hi!

300w 3in1 Beam Moving Head Light 20 Channel

I cannot access ring mode and ring speed

Ring strobe control can be found in the intensity section but ring mode and ring speed are nowhere.

Am I missing something?

Any help or updated profile would be most appreciated!

Thx

The Ring Mode and Ring Speed, as a new fixture, are not automatically assigned to a parameter group. This will require a fixture profile adjustment on both the 20 and 23 Channel modes. I have submitted a fixture correction for this, but I don’t have any physical units. In the meantime, you can assign those yourself, so you can control the lights. Most time things like this end up in the ā€œBeam FXsā€ parameter group.

Hope this helps,

Watson

For reference, this request was assigned Fixture Library support Ticket #368084.

That’s awesome!

Thanks for that tip, I’ll give it a try….

Crazy question:

Is it possible to add the virtual dimmer to the ring mode?

There is essentially no intensity value for the ring.

You get mode (which is pre programmed rgb effects per dmx value), speed and strobe.

The library team has updated the profile, and it will be in tomorrow’s build. You can download the library and install it. Check the new profile out. I’m not sure where the ā€œmissing channelā€ got added officially. So, you may want to load the ā€œFactory Parameter Groupā€ settings after the update. They did report back that they are missing details for the last 3 Ring Parameters. I don’t have a fixture so I’m not sure how it is suppose to act. But looking at the manual and based on what you are saying I have a follow up question.

For a virtual dimmer to be added, to my knowledge, there needs to be a separate R / G / B channel for the ring. If the Ring does not have intensity, and you can not control RGB by themselves, then probably not able to add Virtual Dimmer. It looks like it only has the Pre-Programed FX’s based on what you are describing.

My suggestion - see what the new profile looks like tomorrow and go from there. My guess is the Ring FX channel has a ā€œNo Function (Ring Off)ā€ or the selection of all the different FX’s. Thus, it is either on at Full or Off. No dimmer possible.

Thanks bro. We are on the same page. I think your assessment is spot on and agree. I’ll check out the new profile and see what it’s got. I’ve already done quite a bit of programming with the updated deal from last night so I may just press on. I’ll let you know but thank you so much for the help

Loading the ā€œfactory default parametersā€ will not affect / change any programming you have already done. It will simply put the channel / parameter into their default category. You can change them however you like.

For example, you may want to move the intensity parameter to the color parameter group. Just like you can assign the ā€œunassigned channelsā€, you can move ones already assigned.

Watson

This is great news!

Thanks for all of this!
