Can anyone tell me whether Onyx offers a cue-versus-fixture spreadsheet view similar to the one in the Zero88 zerOS consoles? We absolutely live in that view and it’s a show-stopper as we now shop for a new manufacturer/console. I searched and found it mentioned here in a March 2024 post but it doesn’t look like it gained any traction.
The spreadsheet view displays rows of cues and columns of fixtures (and their attributes). Using it we can quickly scan through the cues, find programming mistakes we’ve made and then directly update a values or remove a value and impose tracking (or cue only) on that cell.
This has been a great tool for us in finding hard coded values that sneak in during copies or moves or late nights mistakes that then cause unexpected live moves or other unintended behaviors. I know what you’re going to say – just program better and you won’t need this crutch. As part time volunteer/hobby programmers at a charitable trust theater we’re just never going to eliminate all our goofs. A spreadsheet view is an amazing tool. If Onyx had/has it, we’d be buying a console tomorrow.
