Still trying to grasp tracking in playback cues...

I’m just not getting this.

Here’s exactly what I’m doing (using mouse, no console):

  1. Clear Clear
  2. Select ALL fixtures
  3. Right Click intensity, load Channel.
  4. Set all stage washes to 255 blue and 100 intensity.
  5. Record Playback Cue 1.
  6. Clear Clear
  7. Activate playback to see it work.
  8. Load Load
  9. Deselect all Fixtures.
  10. Select One Moving head.
  11. Fade intensity in to 255 for a bright spot.
  12. Select all fixtures.
  13. Record Cue 1 to playback button 2.
  14. Clear Clear.

Now, when I click the first playback, the washes fade in. When I click the 2nd playback, the spot fades in, but both playbacks remain active. I swear the first one is supposed to release because I have all fixtures in both cues in each cue list.

What am I missing?

LOAD LOAD brings back the current output to the programmer. Even when You deselect the fixtures, the programmer is filled with their values.

I would record cue 1, then bring all washes down, bring spot to 100% and the record cue 2.

No need to fire the cuelist in between or LOAD the output to the programmer.
Or there is something I am missing in Your workflow?

Well, I want the spot to be additive, not replacing the washes.

OK, from Your description I understood, that the washes to be active was not the proper behavior.

So then just Record a cue with washes.
Deselect washes, select the spots.
Create a look that You want, and then record as second cue.

  1. Clear Clear
  2. Set all stage washes to 255 blue and 100 intensity.
  3. Record Playback Cue 1.
[Don’t have to do these two…
  4. Clear Clear
  5. Activate playback to see it work.
…but you can if you want to]
  6. Deselect all Fixtures.
  7. Select One Moving head.
  8. Fade intensity in to 255 for a bright spot.
  9. Record Cue 1 to playback button 2.
  10. Clear Clear.

Activate playback 1 - the washes come up
Activate playback 2 - the spot comes up

This isn’t really tracking related, because you’re recording them into two separate cuelists (playback button 1 vs playback button 2). Tracking occurs within a single cuelist.

This is just having multiple playbacks executing at the same time, but controlling different fixtures/attributes.

I was thinking, that he want’s it in a single cue list as Cue 1 and Cue 2…?
