We do not currently have a date scheduled for the first beta of ONYX 4.33.

@Edward is there also ANY plans for a new FX engine or maybe for now any workaround to have the effects run in BPM sync? Can you maybe share any internal news about this (if there are any to be shared)? Mabye linked to that question: Is there an option for your developers to add more FX modes (like having a square that is only on the positive side - So when the base value is 20, it will raise instantly to the higher value and afterwards go back to value 20)

Basically you could use Effect 13 and 14 for that, cause they are anyhow the same as 7 und 8?!

There is no news on ONYXRM-59 at this stage.

This is something we could investigate. Out of interest, is there a reason you couldn’t use Mode 7/8, and then set the parameter value to the midpoint rather than the low point?

Edward

Are there any updates on this yet? I understand a re-write is required but you guys have had like 8 years to work on this… At this point the new FX engine should be the main priority. New features are cool but BPM sync is basic stuff that even the cheapo consoles have. We’re looking at ditching our Onyx consoles over this.

This feature request is logged as ONYXRM-59 and remains a high priority for the team. We understand that, from the community’s perspective, this request has been outstanding for a long time and has become an increasingly important part of many users’ workflows. However, there are supporting systems and prerequisite features that need to be implemented before work on the FX engine can begin. Because of those dependencies, along with the architectural changes required, we are not able to provide an exact timeline at this time.

We truly value the feedback being shared. I also want to emphasize that DyLOS is not intended to replace the FX engine, but rather to provide an additional workflow and creative tool alongside it.
